The move

Hey everyone, just checking in.  We (Reno Aces AZ AAA) just finished up an 8 game home stand, and lets just say that runs were not at a premium.  I feel bad for the PCL pitchers because the ball absolutely flies out here!! To say the least I’m not complaining.

We’ve got a great team here in Reno.  I’ve only been here for three weeks and I’ve really enjoyed the characters that are on this team.  With so many games to be played you lean  on those guys heavily for comic relief.  They know how this game can weigh on an individual as it can on a team.  I feel that it’s a must to have those type guys to keep a team running at its best.

Looking ahead to this week we head east to Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee for four games a piece.  I can’t wait to get out there.  I’m from Springfield, Ohio so for me, it’s the closest that I’ll get to home. Both locations are only a short drive for friends and family to come down.  I can’t wait to see them all!  It’s been 3 months since I last saw them!  Don’t get me wrong, getting drafted by Arizona was awesome, but most of the farm teams that I’ve played for have been out West.  It will be nice to be close to home and see the family.

Say hello to the Diamondbacks’ Adam Eaton

Hi everybody. My name is Adam Eaton and I’m in Triple-A with the Arizona Diamondbacks. I was just promoted up to Reno about a week ago.

I went to Miami of Ohio and was a 19th round Draft pick in 2010. It was a tough decision to sign, but I’m happy with my decision now.

I started out in rookie ball in Missoula, Montana. In 2011, I began in Visalia in the California League and went to Double-a midway through the season. Won the Southern League championship in Mobile. I was then invited to the Arizona fall league, which is a very prestigious league. I was very excited to be invited to that. I ended up being named to the all-prospect team which was a very prestigious award for me.

I was invited to the Rookie Career Development Program in Washington, D.C., in January, where I met many important and knowledgeable

Saw considerable time in big league camp this spring.

people within Major League Baseball.  It was an opportunity of a lifetime to listen to them to get a better understanding of things like the media and finances, and how to act like a Major Leaguer when you get there for the first time.

I was invited to Major League camp this spring, which was another great opportunity for me to continue to develop as a player. I learned an incredible amount through that process. I got to play alongside all the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a great benefit to me.

After I got sent down from big league camp, I was sent back to Mobile, where I played for about a week and a half, then I got moved up because of injuries at the big league level. Every time you get moved up, it’s an experience in terms of packing up all of your stuff and figuring out a way to get you and your stuff across the country.

This move to Reno has been relatively stress free. Getting set up here, everyone has welcomed me with open arms. I’m looking forward to staying here as long as I’m allowed to. I look forward to a great 2012 season and keeping you all updated on what I’m doing and what I hope to accomplish.
